Does anyone have any thoughts about how long slides cut from FFPE blocks can be stored before staining for IMC? Should slides be stored at 4 degrees, or minus 20 degrees?

The fresher the better. The oxygen oxidizes the tissue from the moment you get the cut.

For very important tissues (TMA cuts etc) what it is done sometimes is covering with a millimeter of paraffin. I have seen also sealing in nitrogen bags.
